Sometimes it takes an impartial outside professional to help you gain true perspective on your home. You know you should do it, you know your house is starting to feel "heavy", but you don't know where to start.

During our lives, there is an abundance of opportunity to acquire "stuff". We are bombarded by advertising, we play the comparison game with our neighbors, and we are haunted by our own private insecurities.

By adding more and more "stuff", we feel like we're building our nest, The more we add, the more comfortable we feel. Once an item makes it into the home, it's never questioned again as to its functionality or aesthetic contribution...but then it reverses.

The price we pay is that we're loaded down as we go through life by things we actually would never miss. Things we probably couldn't find if we needed them. Things we wouldn't remember having if we didn't see them.
